Message from your Chair
Welcome to the BCGA Zone Six WEB site. As your new Chairman and a recently arrived newcomer to the Zone I am delighted to have an opportunity to work with the various members of your Zone Committee. Having been involved with the BCGA in Zone 5, I am able to bring some small amount of experience to the position and hope to be able to help run the affairs of the golfing community here in the Central and North Island. Your Committee is made up of a number of very dedicated golfers, all of whom love our sport and want to contribute to it any way they can.
We are blessed with a number of excellent Golf Courses where we can play and enjoy our game. However, one of the main challenges we are faced with in the preservation and growth of these fine courses is the growing of the game itself and the player base needed for their ongoing economic health. The BCGA is the focal point for many of the programs offered to you and your fellow golfers and it is their mission to promote and grow our game. North Vancouver island Golf

This year your executive has looked at the issues facing our game both in its present numbers, and its need to grow. Without growth the courses we so much enjoy will eventually suffer and future generations will not enjoy the variety of courses we enjoy today. So our main objective for the next term of office is to promote and grow the game while supporting the current activities of our Junior, Senior and Male Amateur Golfers.

We hope to be able to provide workshops and seminars addressing rules and golf etiquette. We plan to extend additional support to those amateur golfers who represent our zone in Provincial level competition and we hope to be able to assist various clubs with the organization and running of their events and tournaments. We hope to attract new players into the sport and encourage existing golfers to become involved in the zone activities we offer.
