Message from your Chair
Welcome to the
GOLF BRITISH COLUMBIA Zone 6 site. As your new Chairman, on behalf of the
Zone Committee, I would like to welcome you. The Committee is diverse with
years of history and is here to help, and that means all golfers from Duncan
to Port Hardy that enjoy the game of golf. After about five years on the
committee I am pleased to continue to lend my perspective and collaboration
to the Zone Committee.

We will only do it together, I have been a tournament player for 30 years
and grew up in Qualicum Beach and now live in Nanoose Bay near Fairwinds
Golf Course. I am also a supporter of charity golf scramble events. The game
of golf can be serious, but just as importantly we need to have fun. Your
committee is here to balance the needs of our premiere golfers that represent
us at the provincial level and also be there for the average golfer. |

The committee is made up of long-time golfers who love the game and want
to give back.
The Committee continues to look and tackle issues facing our game-the primary
one is the slow decline in the number of golfers. It is about the sustainability
of golf - from stores to golf courses, to having enough players to run a tournament.
We need to make this game sustainable and that means to promote and grow
the game. There is no magic bullet and it will take time
We will continue to provide workshops and seminars addressing rules and
golf etiquette to the opportunity to use GOLF BRITISH COLUMBIA rules officials at course events,
to the Zone 6 Club Challenge. We are here to listen and to work with you.
